AREA15, an immersive entertainment venue in Las Vegas, partnered with us to develop an engaging augmented reality (AR) app, enhancing the interactive experience for visitors. Founded by Michael Beneville and Winston Fisher, AREA15 is located near the Las Vegas Strip and offers a unique blend of entertainment and artistic expression, earning it the title of Best Immersive Art Experience of 2021 by USA Today.

The vision behind AREA15 was to merge the realms of imagination and reality using technology, art, and entertainment. With attractions like the second permanent Meow Wolf exhibition, retail spaces, and various cultural initiatives, AREA15 aims to provide guests with unforgettable experiences that blur the lines between the real and the imagined. To achieve this vision, AREA15 sought tech solutions that could deliver cross-reality immersion and engagement. Our team collaborated with AREA15 to create an AR app that adds another layer of interactivity to the venue's offerings. The app allows users to experience a blend of virtual and physical environments, enhancing their overall visit.

Before development, extensive research was conducted to select devices suitable for the project, considering the unique lighting conditions of the venue. The AR experience was designed to provide an impeccable user experience, relying heavily on high-quality graphics and 3D models. The AR app, named AREA15: Particle Quest, offers guests an immersive location-based experience within the venue. The app features three types of games that further enhance the user experience, providing a captivating narrative and engaging gameplay. Azure Kinect DK technology was used to create realistic 3D models for characters, enhancing the app's visual appeal and special effects.
