CHALLENGE

Minimize costs, personnel, downtime, and errors in detailed field surveys and engineering collaboration within the energy, utilities, and construction sectors by leveraging Augmented Reality. Field surveys are typically conducted in isolation, often in remote locations with limited expert support, requiring specialist teams to ensure comprehensive surveys. Travel and management expenses are significant and often irrecoverable, impacting profitability. Incomplete data collection necessitates critical and potentially hazardous estimations.

SECONDSIGHT SOLUTION

Enhance and optimize all field personnel with wearable, AR-assisted 3D holographic visualization tools from SecondSight, deployed on ruggedized Microsoft HoloLens 2 devices. Field personnel can accurately and digitally position and manipulate equipment or layouts over real-world spaces, verify measurements and clearances, complete survey reports and Bills of Materials vocally in real-time, and augment reports with photography, video, and augmented Point-of-View (PoV).

All 3D models, drawings, and layouts, whether surface or subsurface, are pre-installed on the wearable device and accessible without connectivity. When mobile or Wi-Fi connectivity is available, field personnel can securely share real and augmented PoV with support staff globally.
